Abstract

IMPLEMENTATION OF WARM COMPRESSES TO REDUCE HYPERTHERMIA IN CHILDREN WITH TYPHOID FEVER AT KLUNGKUNG HOSPITAL ABSTRACT Typhoid fever is an infectious disease caused by Sallmonela typhi with symptoms of prolonged high fever (hyperthermia) >37.5°C. The purpose of this study was to determine how the implementation of warm compresses to reduce hyperthermia in children with typhoid fever at Klungkung Hospital which includes assessment to nursing evaluation. This research uses the type of descriptive case study with the form of an in-depth case study on one subject in the Bakas Room of Klungkung Hospital which was held on April 12-15, 2024. The results showed that the patient's assessment data looked pale, the skin looked red, and the skin felt warm, temperature: 38,1°C, positive widal test results. The nursing diagnosis is hyperthermia associated with the disease process. The intervention given to An. S is hyperthermia management with warm compress therapy on the axilla with the aim of improving thermoregulation. Nursing implementation is carried out for 3 x 24 hours and warm compress therapy for 20 minutes. Nursing evaluation found that body temperature decreased to 37.3 ℃, red skin decreased, the patient did not look pale, skin temperature had improved. The conclusion of this study is that warm compress therapy can reduce hyperthermia, it is recommended that warm compress therapy can be applied to reduce hyperthermia in children. Keyword : typhoid fever, hyperthermia, warm compress IMPLEMENTASI KOMPRES HANGAT UNTUK MENURUNKAN HIPERTERMIA PADA ANAK DENGAN DEMAM TIFOID DI RSUD KLUNGKUNG ABSTRAK Demam tifoid merupakan penyakit infeksi yang disebabkan oleh sallmonela typhi dengan gejala demam tinggi berkepanjangan (hipertermia) >37,5°C. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana implementasi kompres hangat untuk menurunkan hipertermia pada anak dengan demam tifoid di RSUD Klungkung yang meliputi pengkajian sampai evaluasi keperawatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis studi kasus deskriptif dengan bentuk studi kasus mendalam pada satu orang subjek di Ruang Bakas RSUD Klungkung yang dilaksanakan tanggal 12 – 15 April 2024. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan data pengkajian pasien tampak pucat, kulit tampak merah, dan kulit terasa hangat, suhu: 38,1°C, hasil tes widal positif. Diagnosis keperawatannya yaitu hipertermia berhubungan dengan proses penyakit. Intervensi yang diberikan kepada An. S adalah manajemen hipertermia dengan terapi kompres hangat pada aksila dengan tujuan termoregulasi membaik. Implementasi keperawatan dilakukan selama 3 x 24 jam dan terapi kompres hangat selama 20 menit. Evaluasi kepewatan didapatkan suhu tubuh menurun menjadi 37,3℃, kulit merah menurun, pasien tampak tidak pucat, suhu kulit sudah membaik. Simpulan dari penelitian ini, pemberian terapi kompres hangat mampu menurunkan hipertermia, disarankan terapi kompres hangat dapat diterapkan untuk menurunkan hipertermia pada anak Kata Kunci : demam tifoid, hipertermia, kompres hangat
