Abstract
Acute pain is a sensory or emotional experience related to actual or functional tissue damage, with a sudden or slow onset and mild to severe intensity lasting less than 3 months. One of the non-pharmacological therapies in overcoming acute pain in patients with hypertension is consuming a decoction of celery leaf water. The purpose of the study was to determine the picture of acute pain nursing care by giving celery leaf water decoction to hypertensive patients in the Working Area of UPTD Puskesmas Kuta Utara, Badung Regency in 2024. The study was conducted on 2 patients (Mrs.S and Mrs.K) with pain complaints on a scale of 4 and 5 respectively. Nursing diagnosis i.e. acute pain associated with physiological injury agents. Interventions provided are observational pain management, therapeutics, education, and collaboration. The implementation was carried out 3 visits for 30 minutes with the administration of 5 stalks of celery leaf water decoction given 1 time in the morning as much as 200 ml per visit. The evaluation results showed a decrease in the pain scale per day with an average decrease of 1 pain scale and on the 3rd day showed a scale of pain levels in Mrs. S which was 2 and Mrs. K which was 3. The conclusion obtained is that celery leaf water decoction is effectively given to hypertensive patients with acute pain nursing problems. It is expected that health workers increase the provision of herbal therapy decoction of celery leaf water as one of the alternative therapies and companions of pharmacological therapy in lowering blood pressure and reducing headaches in hypertensive patients.
