Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF DENTAL AND ORAL HYGIENE AND DENTAL CARIES POST COVID-19 PANDEMIC IN CLASS V STUDENTS AT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 4 SESETAN IN 2024 ABSTRACT Poor dental and oral hygiene is caused by the presence of debris and plaque which can cause demineralization of the tooth structure resulting in caries. Dental and oral hygiene is measured using an index known as the Oral Hygiene Index Simplified (OHI-S), which is the sum of the Debris Index (DI) and Calculus Index (CI). The Covid-19 pandemic has triggered various sectors experiencing disruption, one of which is the dental and oral health services sector. This research is to determine the description of dental and oral hygiene and dental caries after the Covid-19 pandemic in class V students of SD Negeri 4 Sesetan South Denpasar 2024. This type of research is descriptive using primary data with a total of 30 respondents. The conclusion of this study is that the percentage of dental and oral hygiene is mostly good criteria with an average value of good criteria. Respondents affected by dental caries were 50%. On average, respondents had 0-1 caries teeth. Keywords: OHI-S, dental caries, covid-19, elementary school students. GAMBARAN KEBERSIHAN GIGI DAN MULUT SERTA KARIES GIGI PASCA PANDEMI COVID-19 PADA SISWA KELAS V DI SD NEGERI 4 SESETAN TAHUN 2024 ABSTRAK Kebersihan gigi dan mulut yang buruk disebabkan oleh adanya debris dan plak yang dapat menyebabkan demineralisasi struktur gigi sehingga terjadi karies. Kebersihan gigi dan mulut di ukur dengan menggunakan suatu index yang dikenal dengan Oral Hygiene Index Simplified (OHI-S) yang merupakan penjumlahan Debris Index (DI) dan Calculus Index (CI). Pandemi Covid-19 memicu berbagai sektor mengalami gangguan, salah satunya sektor pelayanan kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran kebersihan gigi dan mulut serta karies gigi pasca pandemi covid-19 pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri 4 Sesetan Denpasar Selatan 2024. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif menggunakan data primer dengan jumlah responden 30 orang. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah persentase kebersihan gigi dan mulut sebagian besar kriteria baik dengan nilai rata-rata kriteria baik. Responden yang terkena karies gigi sebanyak 50%. Rata-rata responden memiliki 0-1 gigi karies. Kata kunci : OHI-S, karies gigi, covid-19, siswa SD.
