Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF TEETH AND MOUTH CLEANING IN YOUTH SMOKING IN BANJAR PESANGKAN SELAT KARANGASEM IN 2024 ABSTRACT A vital component of overall health is dental health. Plaque and calculus-free teeth are the result of good dental and oral care. The Oral Hygiene indicator Siplified (OHI-S) is an indicator used to measure dental and oral hygiene. The purpose of this study is to describe dental and oral hygiene practices among adolescent smokers in Banjar Pesangkan, Karangasem Strait, in 2024. With a total of 42 respondents, this descriptive study design was used. Primary data is the kind of information gathered through firsthand inspection and interviews. The results of this research were that the frequency of teenage smokers who had the highest OHI-S score was 31 (74%) respondents in the medium criteria. The highest frequency based on length of smoking was 20 (48%) people in the 1–5 year criteria. The frequency based on the number of cigarettes smoked per day was the highest, namely 16 (38%) respondents with the criteria of smoking 1-4 cigarettes per day. The averagep OHI-S based on the most common type of smokers is 2.55 (moderate criteria) for the heavy smoker type. The averagep OHI-S based on the length of smoking, with the highest smoking duration being 6-10 years, namely 12 (92.31%) people with medium OHI-S criteria. The conclusion of this study is that the majority of adolescent smokers oral hygiene has OHI-S with moderate criteria. Keywords: Oral and dental hygiene; OHI-S; adolescent smokers. GAMBARAN KEBERSIHAN GIGI DAN MULUT PADA REMAJA PEROKOK DI BANJAR PESANGKAN SELAT KARANGASEM TAHUN 2024 ABSTRAK Kesehatan gigi termasuk area integral dari kesehatan secara umum. Kebersihan gigi dan mulut termasuk kondisi gigi terbebas oleh plak serta kalkulus. Kebersihan gigi dan mulut dihitung melalui index dikatakan Oral Hygine Index Siplified (OHI-S). Penelitian ini berguna menemukan pemaparan kebersihan mulut dan gigi pada remaja perokok pada Banjar Pesangkan Selat Karangasem Tahun 2024. Metode penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif pada jumlah responden sebanyak 42 responden. Jenis data yang dikumpulkan yaitu data primer melalui mengadakan pengecekan pengecekan langsung dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini adalah frekuensi remaja perokok yang memperoleh nilai OHI-S paling banyak yaitu 31 (74%) responden pada kriteria sedang. Frekuensi berdasarkan lama merokok yang paling banyak yaitu 20 (48%) orang pada kriteria 1–5 tahun. Frekuensi berdasarkan jumlah rokok yang dihisap perhari yang paling banyak yaitu 16 (38%) responden dengan kriteria merokok 1–4 batang perhari. Rata-rata OHI-S berdasarkan tipe perokok yang paling tinggi yaitu 2,55 dengan kriteria sedang pada tipe perokok berat. Rata- rata OHI-S berdasarkan lamanya merokok yang paling banyak pada lama merokok 6-10 tahun yaitu 12 (92,31%) orang dengan OHI-S kriteria sedang. Simpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu kebersihan gigi dan mulut remaja perokok sebagian besar memiliki OHI-S pada kriteria sedang. Kata Kunci: Kebersihan mulut dan gigi; OHI-S; remaja perokok
