Abstract

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DEPO MEDROXY PROGESTERONE ACETATE INJECTION USE WITH INCREASED WEIGHT AND MENSTRUAL CYCLE IN TEJAKULA HEALTH CENTER 1 ABSTRACT DMPA injection contraception can be interpreted as a type of contraception that contains the hormone progesterone, which aims to thicken the cervical lenders so as to prevent the meeting of mature egg and sperm cells so as to avoid the ovulation process. This study aims to determine the relationship between the length of use of the Depo Medroksy Progesterone Acetate contraceptive injection and increased body weight and menstrual cycles at the Tejakula 1 Health Center. The research method in this study was non-experimental with a correlational research design using a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used non-probability sampling with a total sampling of 40 people. Data collection uses primary data through interviews and secondary data through family planning register books and weight scales. The results of the study obtained that the duration of using DMPA injection KB ≤ 1 year experienced an increase in body weight by 35.0% (14 people) and the duration of use of DMPA injection KB ≥ 1 year experienced irregular menstrual cycles of 12 people. The results of the Che-Square test showed the duration of use of DMPA injection contraception with an increase in body weight (p value=0.001) (α=0.05) and the duration of use of DMPA injection contraception with the Menstrual Cycle (p value=0.002) (α=0.05) , it can be interpreted that there is a significant relationship between the duration of using the Depo Medroksy Progesterone Acetate KB injection with increased body weight and menstrual cycles at the Tejakula 1 Health Center. Keywords: DMPA contraception, duration of use, DMPA acceptors HUBUNGAN LAMA PEMAKAIAN KB SUNTIK DEPO MEDROKSY PROGESTERON ACETAT DENGAN PENINGKATAN BERAT BADAN DAN SIKLUS MENSTRUASI DI PUSKESMAS TEJAKULA 1 ABSTRAK Kontrasepsi suntik DMPA dapat diartikan sebagai jenis kontrasepsi yang mengandung hormone progesterone, bertujuan untuk mengentalkan lender servik agar menghambat bertemunya sel telur dan sel sperma yang m atang sehingga menghindari proses ovulasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan lama pemakaian KB suntik Depo Medroksy Progesteron Acetat dengan peningkatan berat badan dan siklus menstruasi di Puskesmas Tejakula 1. Metode penelitian dalam penelitian ini yaitu non eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian korerasional menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan non probability sampling dengan total sampling sebanyak 40 orang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan data primer melalui wawancara dan data sekunder melalui buku register KB dan alat timbangan berat badan. Hasil penelitian didapatkan lama pemakaian KB suntik DMPA ≤ 1 tahun mengalami peningkatan berat badan sebanyak 35,0% (14 orang) dan lama pemakaian KB suntik DMPA ≥ 1 tahun mengalami siklus menstruasi tidak teratur sebanyak 12 orang. Hasil uji Che�Square menunjukkan lama pemakaian KB suntik DMPA dengan peningkatan berat badan (p value=0,001) (α=0,05) dan lama pemakaian KB suntik DMPA dengan Siklus Menstruasi (p value=0,002) (α=0,05), maka dapat disimpulkan terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara lama pemakaian KB suntik Depo Medroksy Progesteron Acetat dengan peningkatan berat badan dan siklus menstruasi di Puskesmas Tejakula 1.
