Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF RANDOM BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVELS AMONG THE ELDERLY IN BANJAR ADENG TEGAL JADI VILLAGE TABANAN REGENCY ABSTRACT Background : Blood glucose level is the concentration of glucose in the blood which fluctuates or changes over time which is influenced by many factors. Increased blood sugar levels in the elderly can occur due to physical inactivity, resulting in poor serum lipoprotein profiles and increased peripheral insulin resistance, which is risk factors for Diabetes Mellitus. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe the blood sugar levels in the elderly in Banjar Adeng Tegal Jadi Village, Tabanan Regency. Method: This research is a descriptive study which was conducted in March 2023 consisting of 34 elderly people with a random sampling technique. Data were obtained by means of questionnaires and examination using the enzymatic glucose oxidase method. Result: The results of this study were (14,7%) elderly had random blood glucose levels with category of not DM and (67,6%) category of uncertain DM and (17,6%) among elderly who has random blood glucose levels in the DM. The lowest sugar levels is 80 mg / dL, the highest is 350 mg/dL. The Conclusion of this study is among 34 elderly, respondents have blood glucose levels in the DM uncertain category. Keywords : random blood glucose levels, elderly, DM GAMBARAN KADAR GLUKOSA DARAH SEWAKTU PADA LANSIA DI BANJAR ADENG DESA TEGAL JADI KABUPATEN TABANAN ABSTRAK Latar Belakang : Kadar glukosa darah adalah konsentrasi glukosa dalam darah yang bersifat fluktuatif atau berubah-ubah setiap waktunya yang dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor. Peningkatan kadar glukosa darah pada lansia dapat terjadi akibat kurang aktif secara fisik sehingga mengakibatkan buruknya profil serum lipoprotein dan meningkatnya resistensi insulin perifer yang merupakan faktor resiko penyakit Diabetes Mellitus. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menggambarkan kadar glukosa darah sewaktu pada lansia di Banjar Adeng Desa Tegal Jadi Kabupaten Tabanan. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif yang dilaksanakan pada Maret 2023, terdiri dari 34 lansia yang didapatkan dengan teknik random sampling. Data didapatkan dengan cara kuesioner dan pemeriksaan menggunakan metode enzimatik glukosa oksidase. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebanyak (14,7%) lansia memiliki kadar glukosa darah sewaktu kategori bukan DM, (67,6%) lansia kategori belum pasti DM dan (17,6%) kadar glukosa darah lansia termasuk kategori DM. Kadar glukosa darah sewaktu terendah adalah 80 mg/dL dan tertinggi 350 mg/dL. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah diantara 34 lansia, responden memiliki kadar glukosa darah sewaktu dalam kategori Belum Pasti DM. Kata kunci : Kadar Glukosa Darah Sewaktu, Lansia, DM
