Abstract

INFLUENCE OF URINAL DELAY ON LEUKOCYTE NUMBER IN PATIENT WITH URINARY TRACT INFECTION ABSTRACT Urine is the rest of the body metabolism that is released through the process of urinalization. Urine examination aims to determine the condition of the kidneys and other urinary tract. Delay of urine examination in laboratory are frequent, resulting in impaired urine stability. This study aims to determine the effect of delay on urine leukocytes number in patients with urinary tract infections. Methods of urine leukocyte examination was performed microscopically by using wet preparations. This experimental research with posttest only control group design using four control and treatment groups, each consisting of 9 samples. The results showed that there was an average difference between the control group and the treatment, especially there was a significant decrease in the delay group of 3 hours. Keywords : Urine, leukocytes urine, delay PENGARUH PENUNDAAN URINE TERHADAP JUMLAH LEUKOSIT URINE PADA PASIEN INFEKSI SALURAN KEMIH ABSTRAK Urine merupakan sisa metabolisme tubuh yang dikeluarkan melalui proses urinalisasi. Pemeriksaan urine bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi ginjal dan saluran urinaria lainnya. Penundaan pemeriksaan di laboratorium sering terjadi sehingga mengakibatkan kestabilan urine terganggu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penundaan terhadap jumlah leukosit urine pada pasien infeksi saluran kemih. Metode pemeriksaan leukosit urine dilakukan secara mikroskopis dengan menggunakan preparat basah. Penelitian eksperimen dengan rancangan Posttest Only Control Group Design ini menggunakan empat kelompok kontrol dan perlakuan, masing-masing terdiri dari 9 sampel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada perbedaan rata-rata antara kelompok kontrol dan perlakuan, terutama ada penurunan yang bermakna pada kelompok penundaan 3 jam.
