Abstract
WHO says there are 972 million people experiencing hypertension, in Indonesia reaching 13.2 percent of the population has hypertension, Bali reaches 24.46 percent of the population experiencing hypertension and the city of Denpasar reaches 13 percent. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of acupressure on blood pressure in hypertension at Puskesmas III South Denpasar. The study used a pre-experimental method (One-group Pretest-posttest Research Design). Porposive sampling is a technique used by researchers in collecting samples used in research. The sample used in this study were 32 medical staff consisting of 14 women and 18 men, ages 46-50 years dominated (62.5%), doctors, nurses and health professionals also dominated. environment as much as 21.9 percent. Respondents who experienced stage I hypertension were 14 people. Researchers did acupressure to respondents at acupressure points for 15-30 minutes which was done twice a week for 28 days. After analyzing the paired t test, a p-value <0.001 (p-value <0.05) was obtained, so that it can be concluded that there is a difference in blood pressure before and after acupressure is performed on hypertension at Puskesmas III South Denpasar. Acupressure can be used as one of the traditional and complementary health services (Yankestradkom) for the treatment of hypertension at the South Denpasar Health Center III
