Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP OF GIVING MP-ASI WITH DIARRHEA IN TODDLERS IN THE WORKING AREA OF THE SAWAN I HEALTH CENTER BULELENG DISTRICT YEAR 2023 ABSTRACT According to (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2020), of the 28,158 under-five deaths (0-59 months), 9.9% (2,506 deaths) occurred at the age of 12-59 months with the main cause being diarrhea. The purpose of this study was to see the correlation between complementary feeding and the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers. The type of research used is non-experimental quantitative with the type of correlational analytic research, a research method with characteristics in the form of a correlational relationship between two or more variables. This study uses the Chi-Square statistical test with a Contingency Coefficient value of α 0.05. Selection of samples using purposive sampling technique as many as 87 people. Collecting data using a questionnaire giving MP-ASI and the incidence of diarrhea. Giving MP-ASI to toddlers in the working area of the Sawan I Health Center correctly 62 respondents (71.3%). The results of the Chi-Square test obtained an asymp.sig (2-sided) value of 0.000 <0.05, it was concluded that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted, meaning that there is a relationship between giving complementary foods to the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers in the working area of the Sawan I Health Center. The calculation that has been carried out is the coefficient Contingency with a value of 0.573. The value shows a strong relationship between the provision of complementary foods and the incidence of diarrhea. It is hoped that the results of this study can provide guidance to mothers of toddlers aged 12-24 months regarding proper complementary feeding in order to create healthy toddlers so that they can reduce the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers who are still getting complementary foods. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat korelasi antara pemberian MP-ASI dengan kejadian diare pada balita. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif non-eksperimen dengan jenis penelitian analitik korelasional, metode penelitian dengan karakteristik berupa hubungan korelasional antara dua variabel atau lebih. Penelitian ini menggunakan uji statistik Chi-Square dengan nilai Koefisien Kontingency dengan α 0.05. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling sebanyak 87 orang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuisioner pemberian MP-ASI dan kejadian diare. Pemberian MP-ASI pada balita di wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Sawan I dengan tepat 62 responden (71,3%). Hasil uji Chi- Square diperoleh nilai asymp.sig (2-sided) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 disimpulkan H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima artinya adanya hubungan pemberian MPASI terhadap kejadian diare pada balita di wilayah kerja puskesmas Sawan I. Perhitungan yang telah dilakukan yaitu Koefisien Kontingency dengan nilai 0,573. Nilai menunjukkan hubungan yang kuat antara pemberian MPASI dengan kejadian diare. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan arahan kepada ibu balita yang berusia 12-24 bulan tentang pemberian MP-ASI yang tepat agar terciptanya balita yang sehat sehingga dapat menurukan kejadian diare pada balita yang masih mendapatkan MP-ASI.
