Abstract
Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive that can be experienced by children who are malnourished, exposed to repeated infections, and have inadequate psychosocial stimulation. Stunting is not only caused by a lack of consumption of macronutrients but also due to a lack of consumption of micronutrients such as iron, zinc and iodine. This study aims to determine the level of consumption of iron, zinc and iodine in stunted toddlers. The sample in this study were stunted toddlers aged 12-59 months, residing in Ped Village. The data collected includes the identity of the sample, the identity of the respondent (mother under five), data on weight and height and data on food consumption, then data on the general description of Ped Villages. Based on the age group of toddlers who experienced stunting at the age of 1-3 years, there were 19 people (100%) divided into 63.16% male samples and 36.84% female samples. Based on the nutritional status of toddlers 84% with short nutritional status and 16% with very short nutritional status. The level of consumption of iron is 42.11% in the deficit category, the level of consumption of zinc is 31.58% in the moderate category and the level of consumption of iodine is 100% deficit. The conclusion obtained is that the most prominent effect of stunting under five is the consumption of nutrients such as iron, zinc, and iodine which are still in the deficit category. It is suggested that health workers can provide education in the form of counseling to mothers of toddlers regarding guidelines for balanced nutrition and information regarding types of food containing sources of iron, zinc and iodine which can be obtained easily in the community.
