Abstract
Excessive consumption of tuak drinkers can have a negative impact on the body, one of which is an increase in glucose levels in the blood. Blood glucose is sugar in the blood which is formed from carbohydrates in the food/drinks consumed. To determine blood glucose levels tuak drinkers at the Banjar Dinas Abuan, Rendang Village. This type of research is descriptive. Sampling was based on non-probability sampling technique with accidental sampling method involving 39 samples. Data collection was carried out by interviews and direct sampling. The results showed that blood glucose levels in tuak drinking at the Banjar Dinas Abuan, Rendang Village, ranged from 101 mg/dL to 399 mg/dL, there were 32 respondents (85%) with high blood glucose levels, and 7 respondents (15%) with normal blood glucose levels. Based on the results it can be concluded that the risk of increasing blood glucose levels can be started from the age of 19 years and over, with a duration of palm wine consumption of 3-5 years, and the amount of palm wine consumption per week is 75-150 glasses (5-10 liters).
