Abstract

Abstract. Advances in technology changing lifestyles and socioeconomic conditions in developed and developing countries. Changes in consumption patterns along with the increasing popularity of various kinds of dishes or meals ready to eat. People no longer consume foods with a nutrient content of a complete and balanced quality and quantity, but tend to consume foods high in fat, especially saturated fat, cholesterol, and low in fiber. Hypercholesterolemia often does not cause any symptoms, so people do not realize when cholesterol increased. Symptoms are often perceived as nape feels sore, but these symptoms are not specific and are not perceived by everyone. The incidence of hypercholesterolemia continues to increase every year, so it can be presumed incidence of coronary heart disease increased, too. Therefore, research to find data Cholesterol Levels and Nutritional Status at Health Office Klungkung District, Bali. This study was conducted in June 2015 involving 72 samples of 254 population. Sampling was done randomly with a random number table. The data collected were processed and analyzed descriptively include a general overview of the data sample, nutritional status data and the data of blood cholesterol levels. Research results obtained from 72 samples, most (69.4%) normal nutritional status, respectively 13.9% with overweight and obesity status, the remaining 2.7% less nutritional status. Data showed cholesterol levels of 72 samples, the number of samples with normal cholesterol levels and harmful nearly equal, namely 41.6% classified as normal, 44.4% classified as hazardous, and the remaining 13.9% of the samples with borderline cholesterol levels. Almost half the sample (50%) who had a normal BMI classified as dangerous cholesterol levels. Healthy lifestyle such as diet and regular exercise is highly recommended because in this study can also get a normal BMI at risk of having harmful cholesterol levels Keywords: Cholesterol Levels and Nutritional Status
