Abstract

TOTAL PLATE NUMBER AND IDENTIFICATION OF Escherichia coli ON THE HANDS OF FOOD AND BEVERAGE TRADERS ON THE SENTAL BEACH OF NUSA PENIDA ABSTRACT The number of food poisoning in 2018 was 287 cases (Bali Provincial Health Office, 2019). Hands are one of the extrinsic factors that can cause the spread of disease to occur. The purpose of the study was to determine the number of bacteria and the presence of Escherichia coli bacteria on the hands of food and beverage traders on Sental Beach Nusa Penida. The number of samples was 15 samples consisting of food and beverage traders who met the inclusion criteria. The sample selection method was purposive sampling with inclusion and exclusion criteria. The number of bacteria obtained from bacterial culture on CSM media was carried out by culture and identification using Chromocult Coliform Agar. The results were analyzed descriptively and presented in a table. The research results were analyzed descriptively and presented in tabular form. From the results of the ALT examination, it was found that all (100%) of the hand swab samples met the 2009 WHO standards. Keywords: total plate number, Escherichia coli
